Adapt on the Fly
Once per Rest, after a Boaban fails a Skill Check, they may add +1 dot to the final result and recalculate the outcome. This may turn the failure into a success or improve its Degree of Failure.
Adaptable Skills

History and Current Status
- After the Sundering, the Boaba fragment remained relatively stable, sustained by the Baobab trees’ magic. Boabans used this power to find underground water and maintain fragile security.
- Clans united under shaman-chiefs who controlled resources, forged alliances, and repelled fragments seeking their magical wells.
- Today, Boabans protect their water sources and preserve balance.
- They serve as stewards of life—healing, guiding, and defending those who respect their ways while safeguarding their realm’s water.
Personality Traits
- Resilient and Adaptable: Boabans embody their land’s tenacity and value independence and spiritual harmony with nature.
- Hospitable but Cautious: They welcome those who honour their customs but remain wary of outsiders.
- Reflective and Calm: They seek guidance through vision quests and ancestral communion, remaining composed in crisis.
Cultural Traits
- Values: Resilience, harmony with nature, and ancestral wisdom passed through generations.
- Social Dynamics: Clans form the core of society and are led by shaman-chiefs who interpret ancestral will. Leadership is earned through spiritual insight and mastery of Baobab magic.
- Traditions: Drumming, dance, and offerings at the Baobabs invoke prosperity, ward against corruption, and seek ancestral guidance.
- Religion and Beliefs: Boabans revere the Eternal Baobab as the home of ancestral spirits and a link to lost cosmic essence. They seek the subterranean Roots of Unity to restore balance and resist Loki’s curse.
Relationships With Neighbours
- Ceibans: Cooperative allies who exchange natural and shamanistic knowledge.
- Ahwatans: Tense coexistence; differing views of land ownership cause friction and minor skirmishes.
- Crannach: Sympathetic neighbours united by protection of the land and occasional resource exchange.
- K’aan: Cooperative competitors who share reverence for nature and resources while disputing territory and the use of venom.
